1) I don’t think that I would make the same choice to name a character something like “Kenadie,” but I love that the author has given an “unconventional” name to a side character. “Zander” is slightly more commonplace, I think, so a good fit for a main character. The trick is to be memorable without being confusing.
2) I love this sentence: “She was definitely happier since she had hung up those running shoes and let Jason catch her.” What a delightful (and visual) way to think of how two people come together. Our instincts are to resist, to run away, but sometimes we make a tangible choice to take a chance.
3) The author does a good job of setting up the situation. The protagonist is a “personal relationship manager.” (“Matchmaker” is a very common occupation for a romantic lead.) The protagonist is torn between her heart and the cold equations of love. Plenty of dramatic potential! How does your work measure up? Does your protagonist suit his or her circumstance?
